Serious Playfulness – an office where the world of the brand is translated into colour, form, light and the way the space is experienced and used.
The Warsaw office of The Magnum Ice Cream Company is built around the concept of Serious Playfulness, combining the professional character of a workplace with the lightness, colour and energy embedded in the brand’s DNA. The interior was conceived as a spatial journey inspired by the product experience – from the calm, cream-toned reception, through more expressive meeting and collaboration areas, to shared spaces and the open-plan workspace.
The motif connecting the entire office is the Lick Line – a soft, flowing line that changes form as it moves through the space. It appears in joinery and graphics, before transforming into a distinctive lighting installation beneath the open, Cocoa-toned ceiling in the circulation area. The interior palette also draws directly from the brand identity, bringing together vanilla and cream tones, pistachio green, pink, fruity hues and chocolate browns.
References to the world of ice cream also appear in the details: illuminated acoustic elements shaped like ice cream cones and a custom-made table whose base was inspired by the distinctive form of the Twister ice cream. As a result, branding is not simply applied as a graphic layer, but becomes an integral part of the architecture and functionality of the interior.
One of the key elements of the project is the flexible Town Hall, connecting a large conference room – which also serves as the boardroom – with the kitchen and communal area. Movable walls allow these spaces to function independently or be combined for larger meetings and company events.
The functionality of the workplace is further supported by acoustic solutions, greenery separating circulation routes from workstations, height-adjustable desks and a BMS that automatically adjusts the office environment in response to external conditions.
The result is an office where Magnum’s identity is not simply displayed – it has been translated into the experience of the space.
