The interior design project for one of the leading European financial services providers exemplifies a harmonious blend of modern design, functionality, and comfort. Our firm’s task was to create a space that reflects a contemporary approach to work while simultaneously inspiring and motivating employees to achieve greater success. The project also aimed to attract young talent while respecting the longstanding employees of the company.
When designing an office for such a large and diverse organization, a key challenge was understanding and meeting the varied needs of the employees. This required a thorough analysis of their work styles and the creation of spaces that support both teamwork and focused individual work.
Previously, the office’s work style was based on a traditional layout dominated by closed rooms and a rigid structure. This setup did not encourage flexibility or interdepartmental collaboration. The new office introduces a more open, flexible space that promotes cooperation and communication. One of the biggest challenges was transitioning employees from a private office setup to an open space environment. To mitigate potential negative reactions to this change, the open space was designed to evoke a homely atmosphere. Acoustic partitions were used, which also serve as writing boards and allow employees to personalize their space. By incorporating wooden elements, calming colours, and panelling, the open space has become a welcoming area that encourages comfortable working conditions.
Employees can now take advantage of a variety of workspaces according to their needs. From open areas for teamwork to private focus pods for tasks requiring concentration. This diversity of workspaces translates to greater flexibility and efficiency, allowing employees to choose the most suitable work environment at any given time.
In this project, we also decided to include works of art as an integral element of the office design. Selected pieces of art, part of the client’s heritage, were placed in central areas of the office. These artistic accents give the space a unique character, emphasizing the company’s commitment to culture and art. Art in the office serves not only an aesthetic function but also inspires employees and visitors, creating a unique atmosphere.
In the process of designing the office, special emphasis was placed on sustainable development. We utilized furniture from the old office that was in good condition, which not only reduced waste but also served as a thoughtful gesture towards employees familiar with these elements. The use of natural materials such as wood and stone, and the focus on high-quality acoustics and lighting, contributed to creating a healthy and comfortable work environment.
