Two The Design Group Realisations Among the Best Offices in Poland

Two offices whose interiors were designed by The Design Group architectural studio have won the Office Superstar competition.

After a one-year break due to the pandemic, the fourth edition of the Office Superstar competition (organised by CBRE) took place. The jury selected 8 winners and 8 commended companies that arranged their office spaces in the best possible way. The awards were presented at the final gala in Warsaw. Each winning office’s award also extends to the architects and designers. The award in this year’s edition can be credited to The Design Group architectural studio, whose two office interior design projects received the winner title.

Best Office in Łódź

In this year’s Office Superstar competition, the jury recognised the office of Swiss chemical concern Clariant at Monopolis as the best office in Łódź. This is yet another award for the architects at The Design Group for this office project. It is worth recalling that in 2020, this realisation achieved success in the international European Property Awards competition, and also won the Polska Architektura XXL’20 Plebiscite in the “Public Interiors” category.

The interiors of Clariant’s Polish branch office combine an industrial style, a touch of elegance, and also a highland, Swiss note. The architects at The Design Group focused on integrating contemporary architecture with the history of the Monopoly, Clariant’s DNA and the most advanced technological solutions. The over-hundred-year-old building has a great many brick walls, which were showcased and arranged around the guiding motif – art closer to people – presented on 79 large-format seamless photo wallpapers. The characteristic large communal kitchen directly references the Swiss atmosphere and alpine chalets.

Best Office in Krakow

In the next regional category, “Best Office in Krakow”, the headquarters of TechnipFMC emerged victorious.

TechnipFMC is a world leader in energy projects, technology and support for the extraction of resources from the seabed. The 4 floors of the office, covering a total area of over 6,000 sqm in the Podium Park building in Krakow, capture the atmosphere of the underwater depths and maritime ventures, transporting visitors into a technical world.

The TechnipFMC headquarters stands out with its unusual construction that references the company’s activities: floor 1 is the underwater space, floor 2 (the representative floor) is the water surface, and floors 3 and 4 are the decks of a vessel used during marine operations. An impressive void – an open space integrating floors 2, 3 and 4, connected through glazing to floor 1 – creates a sense of unity. The void zone symbolically integrates the teams working on each of the floors. It is decorated with an installation of 1,000 small glass balls, representing the Subsea Tree – the company’s flagship product.

The TechnipFMC office project won the title of Polish “Award Winner” in The International Property Awards 2021 and was nominated for the global Lobby/Public Areas category in The International Hotel & Property Awards 2021.
