Colour and Glass at the Bank’s Headquarters
The Lublin office of Santander Bank Polska (SBP) is a space whose dynamism is provided by colourful accents and glass elements. The Design Group studio proves that industrial space does not have to be cold, but can be a place that stimulates work.
The new SBP office is located on three floors of the CZ Office Park A office building in Lublin and occupies a total of nearly 4,700 sqm. A characteristic element of the office are the conference rooms delineated by glass walls. The curved lines of the glass walls are made of bent glass composed of two layers, between which there is a free space filled with air, which additionally silences the rooms. When required, the glazed rooms can be visually separated from the rest of the space using curtains in vivid colours.
One of the more interesting elements at the SBP headquarters are the wooden pillars separating the office section from the meeting space. Some of them are upholstered in a special fabric, which also dampens sounds. “A simple solution means that with one movement we introduce additional energy and changeability to the workplace. The realisation of our idea was a technological challenge, pioneering for office acoustics in Poland – comments Konrad Krusiewicz, founder and CEO of The Design Group.”

The industrial style in the office is broken up by colours. The colours appear in the conference rooms. The tones used for the arrangement of each of the rooms correspond to the names of the rooms such as: Storm, Winter, Sunrise, Night, Autumn, Frost, Fog, Forest, Wind, Amber, Mint, Aurora or Drizzle.
“We started from the idea of arranging the office in an industrial style, hence the installation elements visible under the ceiling and the raw aesthetics. But at the same time we wanted to break the monotony by introducing vivid colours in selected places – explains Karolina Kózka from The Design Group, who was responsible for coordinating the project.”
