Pandemic-Resilient Office Design? The Most Interesting Realisations of Recent Months
The pandemic sent many companies and organisations to mandatory home office, but it did not stop office projects. In just the past few months, many new, designer office spaces have been created.
Codelab and umlaut office in Szczecin, designed by MIXD
The leitmotif of the office in the Posejdon building became travel and everything we associate with it: petrol stations, roadside bars, beaches, campsites and tourist routes. Already at the reception, a Fiat 500 retro car ready to hit the road greets us. The next stage of the office journey is the Petrol Station – a communal zone for recharging batteries over coffee. Right next door is a Cafeteria inspired by American drive-in bars, and the last part is a beachside co-working zone with a beach basket, reed umbrella and inflatable furniture.
Autodesk office in Kraków, designed by The Design Group
The Kraków office of Autodesk is located in the central point of Kraków’s Unity Centre, in the former Szkieletor. The original assumption was to create interiors in an industrial style – bright spaces creating an atmosphere conducive to work. The Design Group designers proposed a slight modification of the style – they call it modern industrial through the addition of warmth with wood and vivid colours. Everything started with Autodesk’s own graphics, which imposed on the designers the colour palette of furniture and decorative cut-and-stretched steel mesh spread across ceilings and partly on walls. An interesting four-dimensional structure referring to the Autodesk logo greets guests already in the lift lobby. The investor was very keen for the office to reflect the urban fabric of Kraków – photographs and murals referring to famous Kraków landmarks can be admired throughout the office.
Tias office in Wrocław, designed by Nowicki Design Collective
The office of the Wrocław branch of Tias is a diverse space, abounding in non-standard solutions. The designer maintained a balance between loft and modern style, between naturalness and elegance. Particular attention is drawn to the receptions – on the first floor the wall behind the reception is made of backlit onyx, on the second of backlit granite.
Strabag Real Estate office in Warsaw, designed by Workplace
The new Strabag Real Estate office has more informal meeting spaces, and employees have gained more open collaboration zones. The meet-and-greet style reception allows for receiving guests, while the kitchen visually connected to the dining area enables meetings over coffee. An interesting decorative element is a freestanding letter “A” made of sheet metal, forming part of the company’s name incorporated into the reception décor.
Callstack office in Wrocław, designed by we.make
The designers proposed an arrangement directly referring to the scientific theme: meteorites, black holes, telephone boxes marked with the names of space shuttles, and each room has its own leitmotif. The chillout zone was designed as a “cosmic greenhouse” – the inspiration was Ridley Scott’s film “The Martian”, with plants entwining steel hexagons under the ceiling.
Reino Capital office in Warsaw, designed by Tétris
The Reino Capital office features industrial motifs – concrete, plaster imitating rusted metal, steel and pipe elements combined with wooden boards and warm materials. On the wall by the entrance, an original mural with a rhinoceros – the company’s mascot.
Kraft Heinz office, Empark Mokotów Business Park, designed by Workplace
The main aim was to create a modern space consistent with the organisation’s identity and its flagship brands. The project assumed maximum openness and transparency of the space, large relaxation zones and a spacious club kitchen that can be combined with the lounge zone by a movable glazed wall.
Siemens office in Warsaw, designed by Massive Design
The spaces were planned according to the concept of activity-based working with a very clear and repeatable layout. All workstations are arranged around the facade, and the central space is dedicated to auxiliary functions. The office holds the LEED Gold certificate and the Integration Foundation certificate confirming its adaptation to the needs of people with disabilities.
JFM Furniture office in Warsaw, designed by Bracia Burawscy Architekci
The office of over 350 sqm combines loft style, a forest zone with natural oak and greenery, an elegant art deco manager’s zone and a modern zone with vivid colours and bold forms.
Vastint office in Warsaw, designed by BIT Creative Barnaba Grzelecki
A modern, industrial space, but very cosy, with a light touch of Scandinavian poetry. Cool concrete broken by a large amount of wood and live greenery. Green walls present themselves as particularly spectacular.
