The New Visma Software Office by The Design Group

The new office of the Polish branch of Visma Software has been designed in a Scandinavian style by The Design Group studio.

The Design Group – Nordic Inspirations in the Interior

Norwegian Visma Software, for which The Design Group prepared the interior, offers software and digital services for business. The Polish branch is located within the new High5ive office complex, known as the business centre of Kraków. Situated close to the Main Railway Station and Galeria Krakowska, it is intended by the investors to serve not only office tenants, but also the residents of the Małopolska capital.

References to Nordic traditions became the main principle organising the appearance of the Kraków office. “Nordic Cool became our guide in the creative search for architectural solutions for the Kraków Visma office. As a result, no colour madness was expected of us. The office space is therefore dominated by light wood, shades of grey and blue, and materials such as concrete and stone – says architect Konrad Krusiewicz, founder of The Design Group.”

“Our starting point was the colour combination of materials. The space needed to be calm, without vivid colours and bold textures. However, we wanted something characteristic to appear in this balanced interior that would be a distinctive feature of the Kraków Visma branch – adds architect Martyna Smętek from The Design Group.”

The Design Group – Office Project Concept

The Kraków Visma office spans nearly 1,500 sqm. Primarily in the form of an open space, it is nonetheless accompanied by three private offices, one shared room where five people can work, three conference rooms and a relaxation area. Each room received – at the investor’s suggestion – the name of one of the planets of the solar system.

“Although it is an open space, we separated the individual teams from each other with curtains, rooms and smaller rooms where employees can rest during the day – says Martyna Smętek, architect from The Design Group responsible for the office concept.”

In the reception arrangement, attention is drawn to the counter, whose front is decorated with wire-reinforced glass with a black mesh. Just above it, lighting in the form of a circle has been placed, which refers to the repeated shapes in the interior. The realisation is dominated by architectural concrete elements and so-called green walls. However, the most characteristic feature of the Kraków office designed by The Design Group is the glazing delineating successive zones of the space. The glass partitions resembling stained glass windows, with grey bars, and the glass-and-wood decorative panels are elements that refer in their form to the brand’s logo.
