The Bacardi Office in Warsaw Has Undergone a Sustainable Transformation – The Design Group Behind the Project
Bacardi is one of the most recognisable spirits brands in the world, with a history spanning over 160 years. The company’s Warsaw office is located in the Mokotów Nova complex and has just undergone a thorough yet sustainable transformation. The architectural studio The Design Group is behind the project.
A Space Tailored to Requirements
The project involved a full adaptation of the space to the needs and organisational culture of Bacardi. The interior was divided into zones conducive to both focused work and team meetings.
“We wanted to create a space that captures the character of the brand while at the same time responding to the real needs of employees.” – Ewelina Mężyńska, The Design Group
“We treat every project individually – here the key was combining branding with functionality.” – Konrad Krusiewicz, The Design Group
Sustainable Development as a Foundation
The philosophy of sustainable development accompanied the project at every stage. Wherever possible, existing furniture was retained and refreshed rather than new items ordered. New office glazing allows more natural light into the space, reducing electricity consumption.
“A sustainable approach is not just a trend – it is a responsibility we take on in every project.” – Ewelina Mężyńska, The Design Group
A Striking Rearrangement
The reception gained a new desk finished with golden louvres, and the space is decorated with a neon featuring the Bacardi logo. The conference rooms received a branded character, and one of them – inspired by Bombay Sapphire gin and tonic – is distinguished by an intense blue colour scheme.
Reusing First and Foremost
The project was largely based on the reuse of furnishing elements. The kitchen retained its layout, and furniture from the previous arrangement was placed in new zones.
“Reusing is not a compromise – it is smart design.” – Natalia Wasilewska
A Bar Inspired by… Prohibition Times
The most distinctive space is the company bar evoking the Prohibition era. Dark furniture, a brick backdrop and neon signs create the atmosphere of the secret speakeasies of the 1920s. It is a place both for relaxation and informal meetings.
