This Is the Office Where Wienerberger Employees Work

The latest realisation of the Warsaw studio The Design Group by Konrad Krusiewicz is an office for Wienerberger, a company engaged in the production of construction ceramics.

The new headquarters is located at Centrum Praskie Koneser in Warsaw and occupies a total area of 1,600 sqm spread across two floors.

The nature of the company and its products were the starting point for creating the interior concept. The architects sought ways to present the diversity of Wienerberger’s product range in an unconventional manner, showcasing different textures and structures of their products. In addition to their traditional application, for example in the form of clinker tiles on the walls, it was decided to create openwork hollow-block partitions. The office also features walls made of laminate panels, inspired by the structure of ceramic products. Work in the office is carried out primarily in an open space, complemented by private offices and numerous meeting rooms.

The architects’ aim was to create a cosy but also light and bright office interior, which is why, in contrast to the heavy brick, most elements were made in shades of white and grey, complemented by whitened wood. The ceilings were left open, with visible installations painted white.

Another characteristic element is the partitions made of white-lacquered steel mesh – they separate the work areas from the circulation areas, but thanks to their openwork structure they let light through and do not optically reduce the space. The interior of the entire office is completed by colourful furniture and curtains, giving it a homely character.

The client wanted to create a space for communal dining and relaxation, which the previous Wienerberger office lacked. Therefore, from a total area of 1,800 sqm, a kitchen area of approximately 60 sqm was created, with a relaxation space reminiscent of an industrial-style café. Mirrors, white cabinetry and stone worktops contrast here with the prominent brick on the walls. Artistic photographs in black frames add character.

Walter Herz represented Wienerberger in the process of searching for office space. Responsible for the realisation of this project was Kamila Królikowska, senior negotiator at Walter Herz.
